Step 1<\/span><\/h3>\n

The very first thing you have to do is to open the image you want to modify in Photoshop. Then go to \u201cImage\u201d, click on \u201cCanvas Size\u201d and double the \u201cHeight\u201d. Make sure you choose the top as the anchor point.
\n(Note: You can also use the crop tool and crop the image larger than the canvas size)<\/p>\n

Thus, we have created the space for the reflection.<\/p>\n

\"Step1\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Step 2<\/span><\/h3>\n

In this step we\u2019ll start creating the reflection. So, duplicate the previous layer (CMD\/Ctrl+J) and call it \u201cReflection\u201d. Then go to \u201cEdit>Transform>flip Horizontal\u201d<\/p>\n

Step 3<\/span><\/h3>\n

Now, we\u2019ll create some blur. Filter>Blur>Motion Blur. Set the angle to 90\u00b0 and the distance to 30 pixels.<\/p>\n

Step 4<\/span><\/h3>\n

Select the \u201cSmudge Tool\u201d and set the size of the brush to 150 pixels, the hardness at 0 and the strength to 20%. Use this tool to create some irregularity typical of a water surface.
\nI suggest you experiment with settings to get the result you like most.<\/p>\n

Step 5<\/span><\/h3>\n

It\u2019s time to create the water ripples.
\nNow, create a new layer, fill it with White. Go to Filter>Noise>Add Noise.
\nAmount 400%, set the \u201cdistribution\u201d to Gaussian and check \u201cMonocromatic\u201d.<\/p>\n

Step 6<\/span><\/h3>\n

Go to Filter>Blur>Motion Blur. Set the angle to 0 degrees and the distance to 40 pixels.
\nNow we\u2019ll modify the contrast. So click Ctrl + L and use the following values:<\/p>\n

Input Black: 147
\nMidtones: 1,53
\nInput White: 219<\/p>\n

Step 7<\/span><\/h3>\n

To make the ripples seem more real, we\u2019ll work on the perspective.
\nSo, go to \u201cEdit\u201d, \u201cTransform\u201d and click on \u201cPerspective\u201d. Simply go to a bottom corner (left or right) and drag the corner out. Do the same with a top corner but drag it in.
\nYou should get this result.<\/p>\n

Step 8<\/span><\/h3>\n

Go to \u201cFilter\u201d, \u201cBlur\u201d and Gaussian \u201cBlur\u201d: set the Radius to 3 pixels.
\nNow set the layer opacity to 30% and the blend mode to Soft Light.<\/p>\n

Step 9<\/span><\/h3>\n

Duplicate the previous layer.
\nPress Ctrl + I (to invert the colors) and set the blend mode of the level to Overlay, the opacity to 25%.
\nRemember to put these two layers between the layer with the original picture and the one called \u201cReflection\u201d.<\/p>\n
