Right-click on canvas and choose Warp. A mesh will appear.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36803\" src=\"http:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"569\" srcset=\"https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-1.jpg 750w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-1-600x455.jpg 600w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-1-300x228.jpg 300w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-1-100x76.jpg 100w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-1-160x120.jpg 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><b>Step 2\/\/ WARPING THE HEAD<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Let\u2019s warp the dinosaur (called Dino from now on) and make it fiercer.<\/p>\n<p><i>To split the mesh Alt\/Option+ click and drag on the mesh.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Click near the vertical line to create a new horizontal guide.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Alt\/Option + Click<\/b> on the top of the grid to create a new vertical guide to frame Dino\u2019s head.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> <b>Drag<\/b> down and out to elongate the bottom jaw.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> Elongate the top jaw. Try <b>dragging<\/b> both on the lines and using the bezier curves as well as inside the surfaces.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>4.<\/b> Pull up to make the head taller<\/p>\n<p><b>5.<\/b> Expand the body and just have fun.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36805\" src=\"http:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-2-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"713\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-2-1.jpg 713w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-2-1-600x673.jpg 600w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-2-1-267x300.jpg 267w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-2-1-100x112.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 713px) 100vw, 713px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><b>Step 3\/\/ MAKING A SHADOW<\/b><\/h4>\n<p>Right now Dino looks like he\u2019s floating in space and needs a shadow to anchor him to the ground and give a sense of scale and position.<\/p>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> Choose a Layer style and select <b><i>Gradient Overlay.<\/i><\/b> Nope, not a typo, this will be different, but more realistic than a drop shadow.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> <b>Click<\/b> the gradient to enter the gradient editor. <b>Click<\/b> the stops on the bottom of the gradient to see a black to dark gray gradient. You see, a cast shadow loses strength as it gets further away from the subject. <span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36806\" src=\"http:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-3.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"505\" srcset=\"https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-3.jpg 750w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-3-600x404.jpg 600w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-3-300x202.jpg 300w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-3-100x67.jpg 100w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-3-120x80.jpg 120w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><b>Step 4\/\/ MAKE A CAST SHADOW<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> <b>Right click<\/b> on the Layers panel and choose <b>Create Layers<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>2<\/b>. <b>Cmd\/Ctrl+Click<\/b> on the Dino layer to load the transparency.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> With the gradient layer selected, click on new layer mask. A mask should now be on the gradient in the shape of Dino.<\/p>\n<p><b>4.<\/b> Lets Merge the mask to the layer: <b>Right click<\/b> on the mask and choose<b> Apply Layer Mask<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p><b>5<\/b>. Drag the gradient under the Dino layer. You should now see Dino with the gradient hidden.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36807\" src=\"http:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-4.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"556\" srcset=\"https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-4.jpg 750w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-4-600x445.jpg 600w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-4-300x222.jpg 300w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-4-100x74.jpg 100w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-4-160x120.jpg 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><b>Step 05\/\/<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>1.<\/b> With the gradient layer selected, press <b>Cmd\/Ctrl+T<\/b> for free transform.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>(a) Drag down<\/b> from the top to shorten the shadow.<\/p>\n<p><b>(b) Right click<\/b> and choose Skew. <b>Drag<\/b> the top middle handle to the right to skew the shadow.<\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> Change to <b>Multiply <\/b>Blending mode in the Layers Panel.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> Lower the opacity. I used <b>69% <\/b>here. See why I used a gradient now? The fall-off looks good.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36808\" src=\"http:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-5.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"560\" srcset=\"https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-5.jpg 750w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-5-600x448.jpg 600w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-5-300x224.jpg 300w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-5-100x75.jpg 100w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-5-160x120.jpg 160w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<h4><b>Step 6\/\/ SOFTEN THE SHADOW<\/b><\/h4>\n<p><b>In real life a shadow will get softer the further it gets away from the object casting it.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>1. Choose Filter &gt; Blur Gallery &gt; Field Blur.<\/b> Adjust the amount of blur on the pin to make it soft.<\/p>\n<p><b>2.<\/b> Click underneath the pin to add a send one.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0 <\/span>Make less of a blur on the second pin. Try moving the pins around to see how it changes the blur. Click <b>OK<\/b> to Apply.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>3.<\/b> (Optional) You can <b>right click <\/b>on the shadow and choose <b>Warp<\/b>. Use what you learned in this tutorial to warp the shadow onto background elements for added realism.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36809\" src=\"http:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-6.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"750\" height=\"414\" srcset=\"https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-6.jpg 750w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-6-600x331.jpg 600w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-6-300x166.jpg 300w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dino-6-100x55.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 750px) 100vw, 750px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Here are some variations, I used a basic color fill layer set to color mode for the color. \u00a0In the second example, I used advanced warp to fit the logo to the Dino.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-36812\" src=\"http:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dinoalt.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"597\" height=\"800\" srcset=\"https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dinoalt.jpg 597w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dinoalt-224x300.jpg 224w, https:\/\/photoshopcafe.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/10\/dinoalt-100x134.jpg 100w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 597px) 100vw, 597px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I hope you enjoyed this tutorial.
